The Walton County Deer Camp began the weekend of Nov. 5-7, 2021 with host 1025 Church in Monroe. However, the thought of this Camp was planted in the heart of 1025 church member Brian Scarborough when he attended a 30-30 Ministries’ Bowfishing Camp the weekend of April 26-28, 2019 with his son, Cory. The Camp was renamed The Joey Leach Memorial 30-30 Ministries Deer Camp in 2024. Joey was instrumental in hosting the first-ever 30-30 Ministries Deer Camp with 1025 Church. Joey went home to be with Jesus on May 12, 2024. The Deer Camp concludes with a CAMO Sunday Service at 1025 Church.

After Brian Scarborough was saved in October 2018, he got involved with 1025 Sportsmen at his home church, 1025 Church in Monroe, Ga. Brian has a gift for administration and event planning, and he put together a team at 1025 to make a 30-30 Ministries’ Deer Camp happen. Brian and his wife Amy took charge as Camp Managers for the first-ever 1025 Church-hosted 30-30 Ministries’ Deer Camp the weekend of Nov. 5-7, 2021.
Brian and Amy were married Aug. 9, 2003 and live in Walton County, Ga. Amy was saved in the summer of 1989.

For the 2019 Georgia youth firearms season, 30-30 Ministries celebrated Year No. 5 with our partners at Hawhammock Baptist Church.
Our four boys and one girl collected three deer. As is so often the case, our girl came out on top, collecting two of the three deer.
