The Dodge County Deer Camp began the weekend of Oct. 24-26, 2014. It was hosted at Camp Stillwater by several hunters in the community. One of the highlights of the five Deer Camps was the baptism of father-and-son Johnathon and Lee Johnson in 2015. Saved at a 30-30 Ministries Deer Camp in 2013, the Johnsons went on to host a pair of Deer Camps at their home church of Bethlehem Baptist Church in 2016 and 2017.
Jeff & Zenda Horne
Camp Managers
Jeff and Zenda Horne first saw a 30-30 Ministries’ Camp after receiving an invitation from Brian & Marci McCranie to help serve a meal at their Feb. 2-4, 2013 Quail Camp in Dodge County. From that initial Camp, Jeff and Zenda began to grow big hearts for serving inside of 30-30 Ministries. Jeff led his first 30-30 Ministries’ devotion on Feb. 7, 2014 at Quail Camp. From there, they escalated into regular volunteers.
Jeff and Zenda first took on the position as Camp Managers at a Dodge County Deer Camp hosted at Camp Stillwater the weekend of Oct. 24-26, 2014. Since then, they have operated as Camp Managers all over Georgia, and Jeff has even managed 30-30 Ministries’ Camps in South Africa. In the earlier years of managing camps, their two sons Brenden and Bowen often attended with them. They enjoyed bringing card games and playing with the Campers in between hunting and fishing hours.
Jeff and Zenda were married Aug. 25, 1990. Jeff was saved in 1987, and Zenda was saved in 1979. They attend Antioch 2 Baptist Church in Milan. Zenda was officially welcomed as a 30-30 Ministries’ Board Member on May 22, 2021.
